We are in the middle of a pandemic, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate with our friends and family. We might not be able to see each other much, but there are some alternative ways to celebrate. Of course, it is not going to be the same, but you will be able to have a good time with your loved ones.
Zoom is a good way to talk to your whole family or friends at once. In this platform, you can organize a meeting for new year’s eve, thanksgiving, etc. You can get together through the meeting and talk to everyone while having dinner at home. It is an amazing way to talk to a group of people during the quarantine. Actually, it is used to teach classes in a lot of schools, including ours. With this modality, we have fewer chances of getting infected.
Another option is to get together physically, as long as you follow the protocol suggested by the Ministry of Health. For instance, you should always wear a mask, maintain social distance, and avoid touching, hugging, or kissing anyone. However, the situation right now is very complicated, so getting together physically is not the best thing to do, even though we really want to.
There is also the possibility of getting together in an open space, where everybody stays in their cars. This way, you can talk to each other without the risk of getting infected. It is not the best way to celebrate occasions like Thanksgiving, but it is a good idea if you want to get together with your family or friends, or maybe celebrate someone’s birthday.
You should also consider that since there is a curfew that ends at 7:00 pm on weekends, the possibilities on how to celebrate are minimal. Even if you’re able to get together, you should consider it as a risk.
We are in the middle of a pandemic and it’s hard. It’s hard not seeing your family, your friends, and everyone you care for, but this is the situation that we are living in, and we have to embrace it and do the best we can with it.
